Hiki, Japan.
The known and the unknown
International Open Air Expressions is the title of the exhibition at Hiki outside Tokyo, that takes place every year. I participated in the autumn of 2003
I collected berries, moss and leaves of bushes and small stones and brought it with me from Sweden. In Japan I collected some similar but different Japanese materials. I placed everything in circles. It was a symbol of mixing cultures.
I made drawings on transparencies of the places where I had found the material, and put mirrors under so they would catch the light and glimmer among the plants.
